Daniel Collins, formerly senior solutions executive at IBM, has joined Cubic Corp. as vice president and general manager of the company’s Urban Insights subsidiary.
He will report to Matt Cole, executive vice president of strategy and business development for Cubic Transportation Systems, Cubic said Thursday.
“Dan’s tremendous experience and knowledge in this field will be invaluable as he leads our efforts to help transform transportation into a smarter, more data-driven industry,†said Cole.
Collins most recently oversaw the efforts of IBM’s Smarter Solutions group in delivering business analytics, big data and cognitive computing products to public sector clients.
He previously served as deputy commissioner of information services at the Massachusetts Revenue Department prior to IBM.
He also served as a data analyst at the National Transportation Systems Center, now Volpe.
