A Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary has been awarded an additional $5.3 million of funding to maintain the U.S. Army’s battle command and control system for another year.
Maryland-based Comtech Mobile Datacom will perform the sustainment services for the Army’s Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below – Blue Force Tracking program, Comtech said Monday.
Comtech began work on April 1 and will complete the task by March 31, 2016.
“We are pleased to receive this additional funding and the opportunity to continue to provide our support for the U.S. Army,†said Stanton Sloane, president and CEO of Comtech Telecommunications.
The Army first awarded the three-year sustainment contract and related intellectual property license deal to Comtech in April 2014.
