The State Department has given Egypt the go-ahead to buy from the U.S. a sensor security platform, related components and services for use in border security monitoring operations under a potential $100 million foreign military sales agreement.
Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and DRS Technologies will act as primary contractors for the sale, which covers sensor surveillance towers, mobile and regional command and control equipment, spare parts and communications systems, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
The FMS contract also calls for the provision of training resources, technical assistance, documentation and logistics support services to the government of Egypt.
DCSA said it notified Congress of the potential sale Thursday.
