CAE has received a contract from Boeing to build P-8A Poseidon flight training simulators for the U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force.
Boeing ordered simulation hardware for an additional four P-8A operational flight trainers through the contract, CAE said Monday.
“We are pleased to be supporting Boeing and the U.S. Navy in developing the P-8A simulators for the Royal Australian Air Force, marking the first international sale of a comprehensive P-8A training system,” said Ray Duquette, CAE USA president and general manager.
The company is scheduled to deliver two Poseidon OFTs to a military air base in Edinburgh, South Australia, and to a naval air station in Whidbey Island, Washington, in 2017.
CAE said it also helps Boeing build a software baseline and simulation-based software lab environment for the development and integration of P-8A planes.
