Boeing has received an order from the government of Qatar for additional C-17 Globemaster III airlifters.
Tommy Dunehew, vice president of international customer service and sales for Boeing military aircraft, said Monday the C-17s are intended to aid the Qatar Armed Forces in its transport, airdrop and humanitarian missions.
The aircraft is designed to carry troops and heavy cargo, perform airdrop and aeromedical evacuations, and transport humanitarian aid worldwide.
Boeing delivered two C-17s in 2009 to Qatar and another two units in 2012.
