Microsoft and MapR Technologies are planning to deliver MapR Distribution for Apache Hadoop via Azure‘s cloud services and integrate MapR Distribution with Azure Data Lake.
MapR said Wednesday the partnership aims to provide Hadoop to clients on demand and enable additional capacity for storage and analytics.
Azure customers will also have access to the MapR-DB NoSQL database and MapR Distribution via the Microsoft Azure Marketplace beginning this summer, MapR added.
The company noted that the technology integration will also support data transfers between MapR and Microsoft SQL Server.
