TOW missileA joint venture o Lockfheed Martin and Raytheon has test-fired Javelin missiles during a demonstration before a group of international military customers at Alabama-based Redstone Arsenal.

Lockheed said Tuesday the Javelin Joint Venture conducted the tests with the U.S. Army and fired the missiles from three different launchers such as a command launch unit, a remote weapon station-based vehicle and an RWS-based containerized weapon system.

The missile launched from a CLU hit the tank target at 4,000 meters, while the one fired from CWS hit the target at 700 meters, according to Lockheed.

“We will continue to work with our customers to provide an effective system that improves platform lethality and enhances survivability,” said John Halvey, joint venture president and Javelin program director at Raytheon’s missile systems business.
