CyberStockLockheed Martin and Temple University’s Institute for Business and Information Technology will host a cyber analysis contest this fall in an effort to help address the nation’s cyber talent demand.

Up to 10 schools will delegate students to join the three-phase National Cyber Analyst Challenge, the university said Monday.

“Our programs and our customers have a significant need for students to enter the workforce with not only the technical cyber skills but the analysis mindset that a competition like this will foster,” said Chris Kearns, Lockheed Martin vice president of enterprise IT solutions.

“We are thrilled to partner with our nation’s top universities to invest in the future workforce,” Kearns added.

Participants will first propose how to solve a certain cyber incident, then attend virtual training and finally take on a real-time practical challenge that is set to take place in Washington, D.C., in October.

The winning team will receive a prize of up to $25,000.
