Lockheed Martin has received a $237.7 million delivery order to provide initial spares for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, non-Pentagon participants and international military clients under a basic agreement previously awarded to the firm.
The Defense Department said Thursday the spares will be used in the preliminary production of F-35 jets under the order, which also covers deployment and aloft spares.
Lockheed will perform work in California, New York, Texas, Maryland, New Hampshire, Iowa, Georgia, Connecticut and some locations in the U.K. through June 2017, according to DoD.
The Naval Air Systems Command is committing $233,890,119 at the time of award from the military branch’s fiscal 2015 aircraft procurement funds and other customer funds.
