SGI Corp. has won a contract to collaborate with ComnetCo on energy research and simulations for the Idaho National Laboratory.
SGI will supply its ICE X system intended to power nuclear reactor simulations at the lab’s high performance computing center, SGI said Wednesday.
“SGI is pleased to work with INL once again to provide the SGI ICE X system for its critically important work in energy research and simulations,” said Jorge Titinger, president and CEO of SGI.
INL ordered a 684-node SGI ICE X cluster built with the Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v3 from SGI.
Battelle Energy Alliance manages the lab’s daily operations related to software development for analytical research.
