Jacobs Engineering Group’s consultancy business has received a two-year contract from a U.K. government agency to provide technical consulting services for a $1.55 billion program to create commercial-scale carbon capture and storage projects.
Jacobs said Tuesday the contract from the U.K. Department of Energy and Climate Change covers the assessment of project risks, design deliverables and processes to measure clean energy production for the White Rose Project in Yorkshire, England and the Peterhead Project in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
“We look forward to contributing our capital project development expertise and relevant industry knowledge to this important program,†said Bob Duff, Jacobs group vice president.
The company will also prepare the criteria for the evaluation of project bids and provide advice to developers with regard to the development of contracts for the CCS projects.
