FireEye, Visa Co-Develop Service to Help Secure Payments; David DeWalt Comments

FireEye has partnered with Visa to jointly develop a Web-based service and associated tools that will work to secure payment data and infrastructure through the use of shared threat intelligence.

The companies said Wednesday the Visa and FireEye Community Threat Intelligence service is part of their overall partnership, which includes the release of tools for threat monitoring.

“The threat environment for merchants is more hostile than we’ve ever seen — attack groups focused exclusively on stealing consumer data are continuously expanding their operations and employing new techniques,” said FireEye CEO David DeWalt.

“[It’s] a daunting prospect for any merchant whose business could collapse if they lose customer trust.”
