Julie Gravallese serves as vice president and chief human resources officer at Mitre and is a 33-year veteran of the nonprofit research and development organization.
She previously oversaw the organization’s open systems and information technology centers as well as served as director of geospatial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance programs.
In the latter role, Gravallese managed a team of 140 computer scientists and engineers who provide GEOINT and space system support in the intelligence community.
She also led strategic reviews of counterterrorism intelligence missions and information technology deployments for IC clients.
Gravallese participates in government, industry and academic forums and has taught graduate programs on computing, IT strategies, data analytics and cloud technology.
She is also a member of the National Defense Industrial Association, the Society of Women Engineers and the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.
She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the University of Virginia.
