Earl Matthews is the vice president of enterprise security solutions division for the U.S. public sector at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
In this role, he is responsible for managing a team of experts that works to help HP clients manage cybersecurity threats.
Matthews is a retired major general of the U.S. Air Force and was the former director of cyber operations and senior information assurance officer prior to joining HP.
During his 30 years in the military, Matthews held various roles, including chief information officer of the U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command and commander of the 435 Air Base Wing and 38th Combat Support Wing.
The military veteran has won a number of distinguished awards in the information technology field, including the Frank B. Rowlett Award from the National Security Agency and the Project Management Excellence Award from the Government Information Technology Executive Council.
A Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Matthews holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in computer resource management and government procurement and material management from Webster University.
