CloudAmazon Web Services will hold its sixth annual Government, Education and Nonprofits Symposium on June 25 and 26 to discuss existing applications of cloud services on public sector organizations.

AWS said in the event webpage that participants will present cases on the topics of FedRAMP and trusted Internet connections, scientific discovery, DevOps, education and open data.

In particular, the company noted that the session on open data will focus on driving innovation by providing open access to information via cloud, which organizations can analyze for insights that will help bolster service delivery and address other challenges.

The following will present cases at the session:

  • Ian Kalin, Commerce Department chief data officer
  • Kimberly Becht, deputy director for Web presence at the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration
  • Mark Chambers, sustainability and energy management director of the Department of General Services in Washington
  • Jed Sundwall, open data leader for worldwide public sector at AWS

Other representatives from AWS will join more government, education and nonprofit leaders to present at the other sessions.
