Vencore Inc. has received the Cogswell award from the Defense Security Service for the company’s security program implemented in a Cleveland-based facility.
DSS Director Stan Sims will present the 2015 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award to Vencore at a seminar on May 24 in Nevada, the company said Wednesday.
“This award is given to a select few who have a proven track record of excellence in maintaining a top notch, comprehensive security program at their facility,” said Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Vencore.
The Cogswell award was established in 1966 to recognize industry partners that work to protect the nation’s classified assets in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program requirements.
A review team vets the nominations submitted by external agencies based on overall security program, senior management support, security vulnerability tests, security education, level of the facility security officer’s experience and classified material controls.
