A new Strategy Analytics report projects the total number of radio shipments to increase to 172,867 units by 2024 and the Asia-Pacific region to drive spending in the market.
The report predicts land-based communications will represent the largest end market over the next 10 years and be buoyed by handheld radios, Strategy Analytics said Thursday.
“Handheld radios will drive the volume in the land-based military radio market, which will grow to $6.5 billion,” said Asif Anwar, director at Strategy Analytics.
“The associated market for radio component technologies will grow from $710 million to almost $1.1 billion with GaN (gallium nitride) becoming an established technology as it grows at a CAGR of 32.7 percent,†added Anwar.
Strategy Analytics expects the total number of radio shipments to grow 3.5 percent year-over-year through 2024.
