SAP has introduced a HANA-based cloud platform for the Internet of Things in an effort to help businesses connect to a vast network of connected devices.
The end-to-end platform for IoT is designed for users to manage devices, operate a device cloud for clients and perform IoT messaging services, SAP said Wednesday.
“With the launch of SAP HANA cloud platform for the Internet of Things, our customers and partners now have the ability to connect anything to any app or business process in their company and business network,†said Steve Lucas, president for platform solutions at SAP.
SAP will also provide free access to the SAP SQL Anywhere suite of databases via remote devices for a limited time.
The company offers IoT applications such as the cloud edition of the SAP predictive maintenance and service and SAP connected logistics software.
SAP also announced an expanded collaboration with Siemens and Intel around the HANA cloud platform in a move to help industry analyze datasets and scale enterprise IoT.
As part of the collaboration with Intel, the companies developed a joint proof of concept to combine the Intel IoT Gateway with the SAP cloud.
