Pivotal and Mirantis have teamed up to offer the Cloud Foundry service on Mirantis’ OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure.
Under the partnership, Pivotal will run its Cloud Foundry-based platform-as-a-service on Mirantis OpenStack and Mirantis will distribute Pivotal Cloud Foundry to clients, Pivotal said Monday.
James Watters, vice president and general manager of the cloud platform group at Pivotal, said the agreement is intended to help enterprises deliver “scalable applications” to customers.
Pivotal and Mirantis also issued a deployment guide to help clients install Pivotal Cloud Foundry in Mirantis OpenStack.
The companies plan to introduce a full Pivotal Cloud Foundry installation to the OpenStack Murano application catalog in the future.
Pivotal designed its Cloud Foundry as a cloud-native platform to streamline the DevOps ecosystems and permit self-service application deployment and management.
