Omar Balkissoon, co-founder and CEO of OGSystems, said Monday the company has used an investment from venture capital firm General Catalyst to develop new technology products for defense and intelligence customers.
“We… are responding to the Pentagon and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s call for action to innovate and increase research and development activities addressing the shortcomings in the traditional U.S. Defense Department contractor supplier base,” Balkissoon added.
OGSystems was selected to receive ACG National Capital‘s Private Equity Deal of the Year Award for the technology firm’s partnership with General Catalyst to pursue strategic deals.
Chantilly, Virginia-based OGSystems employs more than 350 workers that specialize in the geospatial intelligence, big data analytics and cybersecurity areas.
