A joint venture of Elbit Systems of America and Rockwell Collins will integrate the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System II with the Lockheed Martin-built AC-130W under a contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command.
Elbit Systems said Tuesday the RCEVS joint venture will equip the AC-130W cargo aircraft with the JHMCS II in efforts to build up situational awareness and prevent pilot fatigue.
“The intelligent vision in the cockpit gives pilots immediate and accurate recognition of friendly, threat and unknown targets,” said Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America.
JHMCS II utilizes color symbology to support day and night modes, provides visor projected video and features a lightweight helmet-mounted display system.
