David Wennergren, senior vice president of technology at the Professional Services Council, has cited data sharing and security as among what he sees as necessary elements for a cyber strategy.
Wennergren, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list for 2015, wrote in an opinion piece for FCW published Thursday that a focus on “secure information sharing” could both bolster security and aid in data flow.
He also recommended “determining the balance between work done at the enterprise and local levels.”
“The advantages of doing things locally included a manageable scale, speed, agility and proximity to your customers,” he said.
Wennergren added that doing everything locally, however, would result in duplicate systems that he said are not operable with other platforms.
“With the advent of the Internet age, we discovered that we could eliminate the expense of duplicate, disparate solutions.”
