Dan Mennel, formerly managing director at KPMG, has been appointed as a partner to oversee Grant Thornton’s San Jose, California-based strategic federal tax services group.
He has worked at companies in aerospace, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors and dealt with issues concerning research and development tax credits, Grant Thornton said Tuesday.
“Dan’s broad and deep knowledge of R&D tax matters will be integral in meeting the needs of our dynamic clients throughout the region,†said Donald Corbett, tax services leader for the West region at Grant Thornton.
The certified public accountant previously worked at Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers and has held leadership positions at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
Mennel is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting.
