CGI has been selected to refresh the information technology infrastructure of Highways England as the U.K. Transport Department’s agency transitions to a government-owned company.
The company will supply laptops and tablets to Highways England under the three-year information and communications technology services contract, CGI said Monday.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this strategic contract with Highways England, which will take advantage of our experience in modernizing other public sector clients’ systems and delivering stable, secure end user computing systems,†said Steve Thorn, senior vice president of CGI’s U.K. public sector business.
CGI’s service desk will operate the IT system.
Highways England maintains England’s strategic road network and handles road incidents.
