Airbus and Cisco have moved to integrate their technology offerings in the defense, security and satellite communication areas in a new global partnership.
Airbus said Wednesday it will have access to Cisco’s networking, design and engineering systems, as well as sales and technology training programs, go-to-market activities and joint service development under the agreement.
Wendy Mars, a vice president of enterprise business at Cisco, said the two companies would leverage Cisco’s talent and technology in an effort to help address opportunities and develop services in the defense, cyber security and the satellite communication industries.
“Cisco and Airbus Defense and Space strongly believe that the network is key in driving innovation and delivering business outcomes to our customers,” added Mars.
The Airbus-Cisco team will work to create create products in networking, cybersecurity, mobility, cloud, data intelligence and the Internet of Things.
As a Cisco global specialty integrator, Airbus will embed Cisco technologies into its systems and resell Cisco’s networking technology.
