Tetra Tech has been awarded a $35 million contract to help the D.C. Department of Environment assess and remediate contaminated sediments in the Anacostia River.
The company said Tuesday it will provide technical support services for the agency’s Cleaner Anacostia River remediation project.
Under the contract, Tetra Tech scientists will examine samples of the river’s surface water, sediments, groundwater seepage and fishes for chemical substances.
The company will also help develop methods to reduce the impacts of Anacostia River sediment contamination on the environment and human health.
