A new Research and Markets report has indicated that demand for software as a service has surpassed that for traditional network security software.
The report traces the growing interest in SaaS-based network security services among enterprises to increasing cyber attacks and use of portable devices, Research and Markets said Friday.
The market analyst also noted the companies’ need for security services that prevent misuse of confidential data by employees amid rising adoption of mobile devices.
The report sets a 6.68 percent compound annual growth rate in North America from 2014 to 2019, and names complex network infrastructures and product integration among the main market challenges.
Cisco Systems, Fortinet, Juniper Networks, McAfee, Palo Alto Networks and Symantec are profiled in the report as tier-one market vendors.
