Information technology employees from 19 federal agencies have been nominated to take part in a six-month program to help the U.S. government identify and fix information technology problems, Federal Times reported Thursday.
Aaron Boyd writes the IT professionals gathered Wednesday to kick off the first CIO Council IT Solutions Challenge.
Participants also discussed IT issues across the government and formed into working groups during a full-day workshop Thursday, according to Federal Times.
Federal Chief Information Officer Tony Scott formed the program, which will also include professional development sessions, mentoring and face-to-face sessions with federal IT leaders, the report said.
Working groups will offer monthly updates on their activities via the CIO.gov website and are scheduled to present their ideas in September.
