IBM has made its threat intelligence database available to customers and industry via the cloud-based IBM X-Force Exchange platform to drive information sharing and collaboration to mitigate potential cyber attacks.
The company said Thursday the platform will provide access to more than 700 terabytes of information on malware, vulnerabilities, IP address and website reputation, spam and phishing attacks, and real-time threat indicators.
“By inviting the industry to join our efforts and share their own intelligence, we’re aiming to accelerate the formation of the networks and relationships we need to fight hackers,” said Brendan Hannigan, general manager of IBM’s security business.
According to IBM, X-Force Exchange provides users a platform to validate threat data with peers and experts, a library of information that is continually updating and growing, a tool to organize data and capabilities for programmatic querying.
