DRS Technologies has exhibited the performance of its 10-micron pixel pitch infrared sensor.
The IR detector features a thermal camera with 1280×1024 resolution, as well as 640×512 and 320×256 arrays designed for integration into original equipment manufacturer systems, DRS said Tuesday.
The sensor passed the 50 milliKelvins noise equivalent temperature difference standard for uncooled IR technologies.
Greg Christison, senior director of DRS commercial IR systems, said the 10-micron technology puts DRS ahead “in the race to smaller pixel pitch and lower cost products.â€
