The Department of Homeland Security has granted a SAFETY Act of 2002 certification to FireEye for the company’s multi-vector virtual execution engine and dynamic threat intelligence cloud platform.
SAFETY Act certifications give customers that use FireEye technologies a liability protection from lawsuits related to alleged failure to prevent cyber attacks, FireEye said Wednesday.
“FireEye is proud to earn this first-ever SAFETY Act certification in the cybersecurity space, bringing a new level of liability protection for our customers,†said David DeWalt, FireEye CEO and chairman of the board.
The Support Anti-Terrorism By Fostering Effective Technologies Act limits the liability claims companies could face following a terrorist attack.
With this certification, third-party claims associated with the MVX engine and DTI cloud platform service will be dismissed when the SAFETY Act is triggered.
