Cubic’s global defense business has completed the initial phase of a manned/unmanned air range system for the U.S. Air Force.
Cubic collaborated with the Wright State Research Institute and the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop and execute the live, virtual and constructive unmanned aerial systems in an effort to establish a simulation environment for real-life scenarios, Cubic said Thursday.
The project is meant to establish LVC systems in regional and theater training ranges for the greater Ohio region and expand the project’s application into other markets.
Bill Toti, president of Cubic global defense, said the project is also intended to create scalable research for the Defense Department.
The team is also working to develop research and testing requirements for the AFRL 711th Human Performance Wing.
