The emergence of Internet of Things technology spurs privacy questions that need to be addressed through legislation, Michael Kushin, a senior vice president at CACI International, said in a Federal Times opinion piece published Tuesday.
Kushin writes cybersecurity legislation should offer a balanced approach to addressing privacy and protection concerns related to network infrastructure as well as emerging IoT-based platforms such as remote control aircraft and smart cars.
“All of this is great innovation, but with these advances come new threats.”
“We must ensure our privacy is protected while also ensuring we can utilize appropriate and necessary techniques to protect our safety.”
