Health Net‘s federal services subsidiary has received a contract modification from the Defense Department to extend the unit’s support for the Tricare healthcare program through the end of March 2018.
The company said Friday the modification covers three one-year option periods, the first of which is already in effect.
“Health Net is gratified for the opportunity to continue serving men and women who bravely serve our country, as well as their family members and military retirees,” said Thomas Carrato, president of Health Net Federal Services.
The federal services unit helps 2.8 million Tricare beneficiaries in Washington state and 22 states in the “North Region” get access to healthcare services, the company says.
