The Senate on Friday confirmed the promotion of Jay “Scott” Goldstein from the rank of colonel to brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
Goldstein serves as mobilization assistant to the Air Force Research Laboratory’s commander and holds experience in acquisition, cyber, intelligence and space operations.
He joined the Air Force in 1990 as a developmental engineer and later held the roles of program manager, senior systems manager and action officer.
After that, he received multiple assignments with the National Reconnaissance Office, Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Defense Department.
In addition to his military role, he serves as chief technologist and head of the advanced missions solutions group at Dynetics.
He joined Dynetics in late 2012 after service in executive leadership positions at QinetiQ‘s North American business, ManTech International and Science Applications International Corp.
He also worked as a faculty and staff member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Virginia Tech.
