Harris Corp. has selected Rockwell Collins to supply global positioning system receivers for Harris’ tactical radios under a three-year contract.
Rockwell Collins began to deliver its MicroGRAM GPS receivers to Harris in January for Falcon III AN/PRC-158 and AN/PRC-117G products, Rockwell Collins said Wednesday.
Mike Jones, vice president and general manager of communication and navigation products for Rockwell Collins, said the company intends for the MicroGRAM system to help Harris protect warfighters from jamming and spoofing threats on the battlefield.
Rockwell Collins is tasked to deliver 5,000 GPS receivers to Harris over the contract’s duration.
MicroGRAM is based on selective availability/anti-spoofing module technology.
