Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Air Force have reached an agreement to sustain future weapon systems in a move to reduce costs related to agreement negotiations.
The public-private partnership agreement covers all work between the Air Force’s sustainment center and Northrop, the company said Friday.
Northrop and the Air Force will also create and manage implementation deals for specific projects at lower levels of the sustainment center and within Northrop.
Chris Jones, corporate vice president and president of Northrop’s technical services sector, said the partnership aims to help “improve the sustainment of Air Force warfighting capabilities.â€
The sustainment center headquartered at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma provides expeditionary systems to warfighters through depot maintenance, supply chain management, weapons sustainment and installation services.
