Kaman Corp. has been awarded a more than $25 million follow-on contract to build military rotor blade components for Bell Helicopter’s UH-1Y and AH-1Z helicopters.
Kaman’s Aerosystems division will manufacture skin and skin-to-core components at the company’s Bloomfield, Connecticut-based facility under the five-year extension, Kaman said Thursday.
Tim Bates, general manager of Kaman composite structures, said the company will “supply Bell with skin and skin-to-core components for both their commercial and military rotor requirements.â€
“We began supplying these components in 2010 and we are delighted to continue this relationship,” added Bates.
Kaman supplies metallic and composite structural assemblies and metallic parts for commercial and military aircraft and aeroengine programs.
