Gulu Gambhir, chief technology officer at Leidos, has noted the company’s efforts to encourage its workforce to put technology ideas forward.
“Supporting employees with resources like money and time, repeatable innovation-related processes, and a culture tolerant of risk-taking and ‘successful’ failure encourages innovation,” Gambhir said in an interview published Thursday on the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce website.
He said Leidos launched a research and development program that allows staff to use crowdsourcing technology and receive internal seed money to share their ideas.
The company also seeks to implement a massive open online course aimed at helping employees develop their technical skills, Gambhir noted in the interview.
Gambhir added the company aims to improve satisfaction and retention of customers by offering technology that can help clients manage challenges.
