Concurrent Technologies Corp. has received a go-signal to continue its work on the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s unclassified remote hosted desktop pilot project, Defense Systems reported Thursday.
Mark Pomerleau writes NGA issued the three-month extension to complete the last two phases of the URHD project after Concurrent Technologies renewed its Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certifications.
Defense Systems reports the pilot project aims to determine the feasibility of managed service capacity at a commodity price, designating one-third of data center floor space for other uses and repurposing information technology resources for other missions, among others.
The URHD consists of cloud-based application hosting, user definable virtual workspace, cloud-based desktop-as-a-service and mobile cloud, according to the report.
Concurrent Technologies will work to connect and process unclassified data, Pomerleau reports.
