Gary May, dean of the college of engineering at Georgia Tech, has joined Leidos’ board of directors.
He chaired the university’s school of electrical and computer engineering from 2005 to 2011 and served as executive assistant to Georgia Tech President Wayne Clough between 2002 and 2005 prior to his current role, Leidos said Monday.
John Jumper, chairman of Leidos’ board of directors, said May brings an engineering and advanced technology background to Leidos.
“We conducted a thorough search for someone who would further strengthen our board’s breadth of talent and background with technical expertise and an established reputation in academia,” Jumper said.
May was a graduate fellow from the National Science Foundation and Bell Laboratories, where he worked as a member of the lab’s technical staff.
He is also a member of the National Society of Black Engineers’ national advisory board.
