BAE Systems and Booz Allen Hamilton will work with Eastern Foundry to pilot a classroom-based certification program for government contracting professionals to drive efforts to build a professional standard for the industry.
Eastern Foundry said Wednesday the program works to educate small businesses on the foundations of the government contracting process and certify them to provide assurance to prime contractors interested in partnerships with small businesses.
Wes Green of BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary and John Avalos of Booz Allen Hamilton will contribute to the program as curriculum advisers and workshop facilitators, as well as share their government contracting knowledge.
The pilot class will be held from March 9 to March 13, Eastern Foundry said.
Green serves as director of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance analysis at BAE’s U.S. subsidiary and has provided project oversight and led proposal development work for programs.
The former U.S. Air Force captain has also formed a training program for managers to help employees handling contract execution at the company.
Avalos is vice president for business development at Booz Allen’s security and military intelligence-cyber practice and has experience in contracting oversight, subprime contracting, target market planning and partnership development functions.
The former U.S. Army intelligence analyst and liaison officer has worked with defense, intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement clients at Booz Allen.
