battelle - ExecutiveMosaicBattelle has received a six-month, $13 million contract to continue its maintenance and operation works for the U.S. Army’s chemical and biological detection equipment.

The company’s team of employees and subcontractors will repair and support the biological identification and mounted and dismounted reconnaissance equipment for the chemical and biological defense joint program executive office, Battelle said Tuesday.

Battelle will perform work in South Korea, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Afghanistan and Jordan, and in 30 states throughout the U.S.

Matt Shaw, vice president and general manager for Battelle’s CBRNE defense business, said the recent years’ awards and the client’s contractor performance assessment reports reflect the Army’s satisfaction with Battelle’s services.

The company won the five-year contract in 2008 and the new award represents the eighth consecutive year of the CBRN project, which brings the contract’s cumulative value to more than $470 million.
