DRS Technologies has won a $12 million contract to upgrade the electronic warfare system of the U.S. Navy and Australia under a foreign military sales agreement.
The company will build up to 180 Joint Tactical Terminal-Receiver systems, test set racks, fixtures and tooling for the EA-18G aircraft, DRS said Thursday.
“We are proud to provide this key intelligence capability to the U.S. and Australian EA-18G fleets,” said Sally Wallace, president of the DRS’ C4ISR business group.
The system is designed to provide threat data for assessment, threat avoidance, targeting, mission planning and communications operations.
DRS continues to develop the technology since its inception in 2009 for the Navy’s E/A-18G Growler.
