ICF International will continue to support the Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative in the implementation of its energy efficiency programs under a three-year contract extension worth at least $16 million.
The company said Wednesday it will also launch a new multifamily and commercial midstream lighting program as part of SMECO’s efforts under the EmPOWER Maryland Energy Efficiency Act.
“ICF has supported the design and implementation of SMECO’s energy efficiency programs for the past six years,” said Selim Karabulut, a vice president at ICF.
He noted that the partnership has won recognition, including the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year and J.D. Power awards.
According to ICF, the contract also covers data analytics, digital and interactive services, incentive processing, marketing and call center support.
The EmPOWER Maryland Energy Efficiency Act aims to drive down the state’s per capita electricity demand and consumption by 15 percent by 2015.
