The U.S. subsidiary of BAE Systems has unveiled a new security analysis product that is designed to help companies protect their critical assets through social media and open source data analyses.
The analysis tool is designed to monitor data leaks, intellectual property infringement issues, insider threats, social engineering attempts and smear campaigns, BAE Systems Inc. said Monday.
Peder Jungck, vice president and chief technology officer of the subsidiary’s intelligence and security sector, said BAE analysts work to combine data from different sources into reports for corporate security teams to safeguard “their most valuable assets.â€
BAE’s intelligence analysts also use the service to scour social media, web forums, discussion boards and file sharing websites for insights to help customers prioritize resources and develop business strategies.
The on-demand tool is also designed to assess the client’s area of operation, the nature of business and the client’s values in developing intelligence reports.
