Steve Wadey, managing director of MBDA‘s U.K. arm and co-chair of the Defense Growth Partnership, will join QinetiQ as CEO in the second quarter of this year.
QinetiQ said Tuesday that Wadey will also be a member of its board of directors and the committees for risk and corporate social responsibility, nominations and security.
“We were looking for an outstanding leader with a track record of driving growth, a deep understanding of the defense industry and the technological know-how to lead QinetiQ in the next stage of its Organic-Plus strategy,” said Mark Elliott, chairman of the board at QinetiQ.
“Steve fits all these criteria and is respected across the MOD and the European defense sector.”
Wadey also currently serves as a technical director for MBDA Group and a non-executive director on the research and development board of the U.K. defense ministry.
QinetiQ’s acting CEOÂ David Mellors will resume his duties as group chief financial officer when Wadey joins the company.
