InformaticaMargaret Breya, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Informatica’s business services, has highlighted several trends that she believes will govern the big data landscape in 2015 onwards, CXOtoday reported Wednesday.

Breya told the publication that 2015 would be the year of “data explorers” and how companies use data will determine the key players.

She also called on enterprises “to make big data clean, safe and connected” in order to gain value from consumer behavior as she predicts big data to usher in “big responsibility,” according to the report.

Breya forecasts that security breaches will increase by 100 percent in 2015 unless companies work to protect their and their customers’ information at the data source, CXOtoday reports.

She also expects cloud analytics to remain in place this year and the data-centric data management approach to replace the app-centric approach, the report says.

Breya told CXOtoday “people will increasingly have more rights over the data they create.”

She also recommended that companies “understand the gap between raw data and analytics” in order to make intelligence-based business decisions, CXOtoday reports.
