AÂ rise in breach incidents has prompted U.S. government agencies to invest more on cybersecurity tools against insider threats or outsider attacks, according to General Dynamics executive Nadia Short, Reuters reported Thursday.
Andrea Shalal writes Short, vice president and general manager for the cyber and intelligence solutions division at General Dynamics’ mission systems business, said at least four agencies have sought industry feedback on insider threat detection systems over the past six months.
She also observed that demand for cybersecurity products and services has been stable despite budget cuts across the government sector, according to the report.
Short told Reuters that General Dynamics decided to integrate cyber and engineering services businesses as part of the company’s efforts to grow its customer base and security portfolio.
“Across the board, I see this as still being a growth area for us,” she added, according to Shalal’s article.
She noted the company aims to boost investments in the cybersecurity market and could recruit more professionals this year.
