CGI has worked with several Estonian agencies to develop and implement a new emergency response system in an effort to shorten response times in public safety missions.
The system incorporates a digital map fixed in the control rooms of the Estonian emergency response center and within rescue vehicles and ambulances to display information about incidents and locations, CGI said Tuesday.
“The biggest challenge was mapping exact needs, beginning with the analysis of rescue work operations to the training of rescue personnel on how to use the new system,” said Avo Kask, CGI’s lead of operations in Estonia.
The system collects real-time data from mobile devices to schedule resources for emergency response operations.
CGI, IT and Development Center of the Estonian Ministry of the Interior, the Estonian Emergency Response Center, the Estonian Rescue Board and the Estonian Health Board developed the system based on the Estonian-Swiss cooperation program.
